CENTER – The Town of Center is hosting its first-ever Dia de los Muertos Brewfest on Saturday, Nov. 2, from 2 to 10 p.m., at the Old Ford Garage at 295 E. 3rd St.

The 21-and-old event is expected to have live music and beer from breweries all over Colorado. Entrance is $30 per person.

Center Town Manager Cole Webb spoke about the Brewfest.

"We have a few breweries involved already, and we are looking for a few more. If any breweries are interested, they can contact me here at town hall. We are charging a base amount of $30, for six beer tickets. You can use these to try the different kinds of beers, if you would like more tickets, each one will be like an additional $5. We are calling it Dia de los Muertos, because it is Day of the Dead, and if you dress up in Day of the Dead attire, you get an extra ticket,” Webb said.

Webb said he is excited about the upcoming event, and the staff of the town is too.

"We think it will be a good thing for the Town of Center. Your tickets are going to get you a free Town of Center beer glass. We are also selling shirts. The residents who have heard about it are excited too. We will also have two food vendors that will be at the event. The event will be held at the Old Ford Garage in town. What's nice about the garage is it's been donated for town events, so we are excited to have it down at the garage too," Webb said.

Webb said the event is for adults only, and the adults will be issued a drinking band for their wrists.

"We want everything, and everyone to stay safe and we want it to be fun," Webb said.

Webb said currently there are three local breweries that are involved, including Three Barrel Brewing, the Colorado Farm Brewery, and Spare Keg Brewerks.

"We have several sponsors for the brewery, too. We will have live music for everyone to enjoy. We hope people will come out and enjoy everything,” he said. "We are bringing more and more events to the town of Center now. Everyone is welcome to dress up even in regular Halloween costumes and come out to this event."

Webb said the funds that are raised from the event will be going toward putting more events together for Center.

"We are not doing this to try to make money. Our goal is to provide something to bring our community together, and to bring other people to the town of Center. We want people to take a break and come and enjoy themselves,” he said. "That is our goal, building community, holding these events, and bringing people together."
