Caroline Mary Todd

Caroline Mary Todd, 100, passed away on Feb. 9, 2024, at her home with her daughter Georgia and granddaughter Denise by her side. She was born in Rouse, Colo., on Nov. 27, 1923, daughter of a coal miner, and grew up in Walsenburg, Colo.

During WWII, she worked for the power company reading meters. She married George Todd in 1946, moved to many places, finally settled in Pueblo, Colo., and raised two children.

Caroline loved to sew, crochet, quilt, teaching people how to make pasta, lady fingers, and pizzelles. She crocheted clothes for little bears for the children at Park View Hospital. She belonged to the ladies' guild, red hats, and enjoyed playing card games with all her friends. She entered the state fair with hand-stitched quilts and won blue ribbons for them.

For all her grandchildren she quilted a baby quilt. She loved to be around people and collected many friends. She celebrated her 100th birthday on Nov. 27, 2023, with family, friends, and neighbors. A fifth-generation picture was taken that day.

She was proceeded in death by her grandparents George and Carolina Bartilussi, her parents Charles and Angela Conder, four sisters baby Christina Conder, Christine McLeod, Edith Shell, and Elda Conder, three brothers baby Albert Conder, Charles Conder, and baby Arthur Conder, husband George Todd, grandson Daniel Keith Vance, great-grandson Ruger Tyler Tallenaar, and daughter-in-law Susanne Todd.

She leaves behind daughter Georgia (Terry)-Vance, son Glenn Todd, 11 grandchildren Jeffery (Elissa) Vance, Christopher (Jessica) Vance, Denise Tollenaar, Melissa (Brad) Milner, Pamela (Josh) Sinclair, Amber(Ben) Burnett, Sean (Ari) Todd, Amy (John) Rowlett, Kevin (Alana) Todd/Mayberry, Krista (Jaeson) Fricke, Janae (Miguel) Henriquez, 32 great-grandchildren Matthew, Zachary, Emmalee Vance, Kendall, Kaden Vance, Jaiden Garcia, Jace, Kayla, Haylie, Madison Anderson, Kimber, Talan Reed, Ryan, Austin, Dylan, Tiffany Milner, Brianne, Jenna, Layla, Ashtyn Sinclair, Brooklynne and Griffyn Burnett, Julian, Aiden, Christopher Todd, Aidan, Avery, Liam Rowlett, Josiah, Micah, Isaac Fricke. Adriel, Samuel, lzael Henriquez, Damon and Kat Mayberry, three great-great-grandchildren Charlotte and Everly Anderson and Grayson Juarez.

Caroline will be so missed by all family; friends and people she met along the way.

Cremation was chosen.

A Rosary will be at 10:30 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. on Feb. 28, 2024, at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Pueblo West, Colo.
