Stephen P. Kralik

DENVER, Colo.— Stephen P. Kralik departed this life on May 28, 2019 in Denver, Colo. He was born Dec. 1,  1937 in Walsen Camp, Colo. to the union of  Pete P. and Albina S. Kralik.
Steve married Carol Lynn Bradford, the love of his life, on May 8, 1965. They were blessed with two children, Brandon And Tanya.
Steve attended St. Mary’s grade school in Walsenburg and St. Patrick’s grade school in Pueblo and graduated from Pueblo Catholic High School in 1955. He attended Creighton University where he earned his bachelor degree and then received his Medical Technology Certificate from the Colorado State Hospital School of Medical Technology. He attained his MHA from the Medical College of Virginia School of Hospital Administration in 1970.
He served in Company B of the 14th Infantry, 25th Infantry Division in Schofield Barracks in Hawaii where he was discharged with the rank of 1st Lt.
Kralik held several jobs at St. Mary-Corwin Hospital and Parkview Episcopal Hospital while in school and after graduation he served as administrative assistant at St. Joseph Hospital in Phoenix; assistant administrator at St. Mary-Corwin Hospital in Pueblo; administrator at Community Memorial Hospital in Marysville, KS; President and CEO, Memorial Hospital in McPherson, Kan.; assistant administrator at St. Francis Hospital in Wichita, Kan.; administrator of Weisbrod Memorial Hospital in Eads, Colo. and administrator of the Colorado State Veterans Center in Monte Vista from which he retired in 2000.
Steve loved to hunt and fish and travel, visiting 10 countries and most of the 50 states including Alaska and Hawaii.
He was active in community and fraternal organizations. He served as a board member of the Rotary Clubs in Marysville, McPherson and in Monte Vista. He served as Lions Club board member in Eads, Pride Program Chairman in Marysville and Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus Council in Gunnison, CO. He was a member of and helped found the St. Aloysius Knights of Columbus Council 15653 in Rye, CO and served as the Grand Knight there. He also enjoyed being a member of the Preseren Club.
He is survived by his loving wife Carol Kralik of Colorado City; his two devoted children, Brandon Kralik of  Maui, Hawaii and Tanya Kralik Enns of Sante Fe, N.M. and four grandchildren, Julia Harvey, Anthony Fano, Jack Enns and Frida Lindberg.  
Rosary was recited on June 5 followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Rye, Colo. Interment followed the mass at Mt. Olivet Cemetery adjoining the church. A reception will be held after the interment at the church hall.
