Run enthusiasts attend second annual Rudolph Run

ALAMOSA — The weather started off like a dream with temps near 40 and clear skies for the 2nd Annual Round-UP Rudolph Run (5K run and 2K walk) on Saturday, but shortly after the race started the wind was blowing, and snow flurries were flying, making for a very exciting race.
A number of people dressed up and there was no shortage of Christmas cheer. A huge shout out to “The Best Time” Race timing company, and Brittany and Justin Johnson of SLV Sports and Wellness. They did a great job producing the race, and despite a flying blow-up Christmas tree, the race went off without a hitch.
This year’s Rudolph Run on the theme “I Ran As A Gift,” with the help of sponsors, donated proceeds to gifts to children in the hospital over Christmas and sending home local newborns in Christmas stockings and cute little caps.
The Men’s overall winner was John Naranjo with a time of 22:07:54.
The Women’s overall winner was Amy Crowder with a time of 23:14:57.
Round-UP Rudolph Run and Alamosa Christmas Light Parade Sponsors were: Alamosa Local Marketing District Board; Colorado Army National Guard; 1st Southwest Bank; Friday Health Plans; CRC Farms; SLV Brewing Co.; SLV Federal Bank; SLV Health; US Tractor & Harvest Inc.; and SLV Sports and Wellness.
