LARGO, Fla.—Nell Elizabeth Zayac, 93, passed away on Dec. 20, 2017 at Largo Medical Center, Largo, Fla. She was born in Brantley, Ala. on Oct. 26, 1924 to parents Edward and Irene Smith.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Edward J. Zayac, M.D. Dr. Zayac had his medical practice in Del Norte where they raised their four children.
Nell is survived by Dr. Edward Joseph Zayac, Jr.; San Antonio, Texas; Stephen A. Zayac, Fallon, Nev.; Kenneth D. Zayac (Cynthia), Aurora, Colo.; Linda D. Vadis, Largo, Fla.; nieces Gail Giles, Montgomery, Ala. and Sara Beth Williams, Montgomery, Ala.; eight grandchildren Commander Kevin Zayac (Erica), Chesapeake, Va.; Whitney Bonner (Bryant), San Antonio, Texas; Dr. Emily Boyd (Colin), San Antonio, Texas; Danielle Zayac, Reno, Nev.; Kathleen Zayac, Reno, Nev.; Kelsey Zayac, Reno, Nev.; John Zayac (Veronica), Aurora, Colo.; Joseph Zayac, Honolulu, Hawaii; 10 great grandchildren Benjamin, Bradley and Leah Zayac, Chesapeake, Va.; Sydney, Zachery, Andrew and Ella Bonner, San Antonio, Texas; Campbell Boyd, San Antonio, Texas and Aiden and Jacob Zayac, Reno, Nev.
Funeral services were held on Jan. 11, 2018 at the White Chapel-Greenwood Funeral Home and Serenity Memorial Gardens in Montgomery, Ala. A public visitation was held on Thursday, Jan. 11, in the chapel of White Chapel-Greenwood Funeral Home followed by a graveside service in Greenwood Cemetery. Rev. Winston Brooks officiated.
