Letter to the Editor: ‘We the People’

To the editor:
Congress should have term limits, but they will not make it happen, so “We the People” must do it. Voting machines must be safe. With the technology we have that should be priority, and easy to do. It is starting to look like our well-paid people in D.C. have lost their way. “ We the People” have let this happen. So let’s get off the couch and fix the system. The folks in D.C. say bribery is a crime, but a lot of them do it. I wonder if they know that “Quid Pro Quo” is the same thing. It seems like political folks are not held to the same standard as “We the People.” I pray that all of us are paying attention. Peter Marshall said, “ Lord where we are wrong, make us willing to change, and when we are right, make us easy to live with.” “We the People” went to war with government in 1773 because it wanted to rule. They had single shot guns and so did “We the People.” You all know how that went. Our government has guns with 30 round magazines, but they want “ We the People” to have single shot guns. “We the People” are in charge. Really? If the government takes our guns, they should get rid of theirs also, but then Mexico would take over the USA. I don’t know if “ We the People” would like that. I guess “ We the People” must keep our guns. I would like my government to explain to “We the People” what the word; “infringed” means. It seems many folks don’t know or don’t care, and many of those folks that missinterpret it are in our government. Abraham Lincoln once said , “You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong.” You cannot help the wage earners by pulling down the wage payer. You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich, you cannot help men permanently by doing for them what they could and should for themselves.
