Dear Editor,

This letter is to encourage all members of the San Luis Valley Rural Electric Cooperative to vote for Wade Lockhart for the at-large seat on the Board of Directors and also to respond to the letter from Bruce and Kris Steffens in the May 9 Center Post-Dispatch. Wade is a long-time valley resident who is committed to communicating with members and working to provide a stable, affordable electric supply utilizing more renewable and local resources. Wade supports generating more of our power from local renewable resources not just because it lessens the environmental impact but also because it costs less than buying coal-generated electricity and will create well-paying local jobs. This is a win for all of us.

  If you are a co-op member, please take this opportunity to have a voice in the future of our electric supply. You should have received your ballot in the mail by now. Please make sure to return it before June 11 and vote Wade Lockhart for member at large! Thanks for your support.
