Jackie ‘Jack’ Lee Windham, 74
BROWNFIELD, Texas— Jack passed away Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2018 in Brownfield, Texas.
He was born February 17, 1944 in Monte Vista to Howell Elton “Smoky” and Lillian Windham. He married Loretta May Kinsey on Oct. 10, 1964 in Center.
Jack was a heavy equipment operator for 33 years for Ferguson Construction. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Jack and his wife, Loretta, moved to Brownfield in 2013 to be closer to their children. Jack was one of the hardest workers and taught his children this work ethic. He was a wonderful grandfather to his five grandchildren, and a loving husband and father. Jack loved to go fishing and camping in the mountains. In his younger years he rode broncs and bulls in rodeos and he loved horses.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Loretta and two sisters, Peggy L. Monter, Barbara Shaw and brother, Billy R. Windham.
Jack is survived by two sons, John Windham and wife, Lanette, of Lubbock, Texas; Richard Windham and wife, Sylvia, of Dallas, Texas; daughter, Karen Grigsby and husband, Gary, of Brownfield, Texas; five grandchildren, Travis, Hollie, Nicole, Brooke, Abigail; and sister, Roxanna Thorson of Culdesac, Idaho.
Funeral services for Jackie Lee Windham were held Monday, Sept. 3 at Brownfield Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Carter officiating.
