Fred ‘Fritz’ Paulson, 87

Fred ‘Fritz’ Paulson,

DEL NORTE—Fred “Fritz” Paulson was born on Dec. 12, 1931 in Del Norte to Ada and Richard Paulson.  He left this life to spend Christmas in eternity with the Lord on Dec. 18, 2018.
On Aug. 3, 1950 he married Marjorie Mann and out of the blessed union they had five children, Kayrn (Wayne) Mosby Klamath Falls, Ore.; Flip (Marilyn) Paulson Columbia Falls, Mont.; Valorie (Lawrence) Archuleta, Las Vegas, Nev.; Vicki (Steve) Schmittel, Center and Jennifer (Myron) Myers of Monte Vista; out of all of these unions he had 10 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. He is survived by his siblings, Joyce Hersch from Bremerton, Wash. and Donald (Christine) Paulson from Dothan, Ala.
Fritz was a wonderful dad, grandfather, great grandfather and great great grandfather. He was an amazing man and was so loved by his family and friends. He would always stop and play games with his children during their childhood, like football, volleyball, baseball and even jump rope. He would travel all over the state of Colorado to watch his kids in their sports activities. He enjoyed playing cards and board games. He even built game boards called Fast Track for others to enjoy.
Fritz was a hard working farmer/rancher and enjoyed calving season and bringing in the crops every year. He farmed with his son and grandson in the Del Norte and Center area. He taught them how to persevere through the tough times, never giving up. He was like that from sun up to sun down even carrying that into fishing where he would refuse to get off the lake. One of his favorite pastimes after retirement was fishing and eating what he caught. He liked telling his daughters how to cook the fish correctly. He also enjoyed his coffee time with his coffee buddies.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, daughter-in-law Judy Mae Paulson, granddaughter Christina Archuleta-Blaiser, his siblings, Richard Paulson II, Arthur Paulson and DeAnna Moore.
He was loved and will be missed by all that knew him.
A celebration of his life will be Thursday, Jan. 3, 2019 at 11 a.m. at the Calvary Baptist Church, 2160 Sherman Avenue, Monte Vista. In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to Hospice Del Valle and may be made in care of the funeral home office.
