SAGUACHE COUNTY — A 28-year-old- Denver man was arrested by the Colorado State Patrol (CSP) following a crash the morning of Saturday, May 18 on Highway 17 and County Road CC that sent two women to the hospital, one in serious condition.
Ernest Burrows, 28, was driving a 1995 Jeep utility which collided with a 2018 Nissan SUV. He was arrested on charges of driving under the influence, vehicular assault, disregarding a stop sign at the highway, also seatbelt and no insurance violations. He was booked into the Saguache County jail where he remains in custody.
A 32-year-old woman was air-flighted to Central Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs. Another female was transferred by ambulance to San Luis Valley Regional Medical Center.
