Cox announces candidacy for BOCC

SAGUACHE— Saguache resident Ellen E. Cox has announced her candidacy for Saguache County Commissioner.
Cox has lived in the county for 38 years and describes herself as a concerned citizen who wishes to serve county residents. She has worked for the county for over 20 years and is presently the Saguache County victim advocate coordinator. She also is a member of the Saguache County Planning Commission.
“If elected, I will be your voice, and to that end, respectful and proactive to concerns and issues presented to the board of county commissioners,” Cox said. “In addition to being a member of the planning commission, I have held many board positions in my work with the county.”
Cox is a small business owner and operates a small bed and breakfast. She participates in the town and county by participating in community outreach programs related to victims of crime and economic depression. “I am committed to reaching out to and interacting with our youth about the hazards that impact our lives and homes,” Cox stated. “They are our citizens and leaders of the future.”
Cox says she also feels it is her responsibility to stay informed and active in community activities, both in the county and the region. “I value our diversity of spirit, abundant natural beauty, truly unique place in this world, and want to dedicate my abilities and passion in representing all of us, as a Saguache County commissioner,” she concluded.
“Thank you for your consideration.”
