ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.—Clarence Clyde Robinson, 79 of Hooper, Colo. passed away October 14, 2017 in Albuquerque, N.M. under hospice care with his loving family by his side.

Clarence was born April 14, 1938 in Monte Vista, Colo. to L.E. (Jack) and Ava (Maxwell) Robinson. 

He graduated from Hooper High School in 1957. Clarence married his high school sweetheart, Jolene Milligan February 27, 1960 in Ranchvale, N.M. They had three children, Claudia (CJ), Penny and Matthew.

In his lifetime, Clarence was employed as a farm worker, auto body repairman before he purchased and operated Robinson Farms in the Hooper community.

Clarence was a charter member of the former Center Jaycees, member of SLV Resource Conservation and Development.

As a potato and Coors barley farmer he received many accomplishments and awards including: National Potato Council Environmental Stewardship, Outstanding Soil Conservation District Supervisor Colorado Conservation Hall of Fame and Outstanding Conservationist of the Year-farming division and numerous other awards.

Clarence’s hobbies were bowling, fishing, grandchildren and great grandchildren. His longtime favorite hobby was hunting with his best friends for over 50 years.

Clarence is survived by his wife, Jolene (Diddy) of 57 years, daughters, Claudia (CJ) Robinson, Penny (Russ) Maxwell; grandchildren Dennis (Tesa) Maxwell, Tasha (Billy) Lugg; great grandchildren Kaylee Ann, Johnathon, Anagrace, Zachery and Elizabeth; sister Thelma (Warren) Mauk; sisters in law Arlene Davis, Laine (Ted) Park; brothers in law Roy (Joanne) Milligan and Lenny (Jodi) Milligan. He also has numerous nephews and nieces. 

He is proceeded in death by his beloved son Matt. His parents, brother James and infant siblings Delbert and Helen Sue and his in-laws Roy and Elaine Milligan.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Center United Methodist Church, Wednesday, Oct. 18, 11 a.m., where he was a member.
