Wrapping up a fabulous year

Center schools wrapped up the 2018 school year with some fabulous events. Once again The Parent Involvement Committee put together a fun event for families. The group celebrated the end of the year with a Christmas dinner on December 18th. The party included a visit from Santa and an entertaining Piñata celebration. The PICS team works hard to support the district work of engaging parents and families in supporting the educational process of students in our district.
The following evening elementary families were treated to the 4th annual Gift of Reading Night. This was an amazing event complete with Mariachi dancers, visits from Santa and the Grinch, and a bountiful raffle. Students were treated to various Christmas stories read by different school and community members. After the reading time, everyone converged back in the commons area for the Christmas raffle give away! A big thanks to Colleen Hurst and her team for all the hard work organizing this fabulous community outreach that over 250 people attended. We appreciate the generous donations from staff and community members that made the evening a success. All who attended left with smiles on their faces!
And finally, Center staff gathered for their annual Christmas celebration at Calvillo’s. Fun was had by all. Everyone enjoyed the food and festivities. It was a great way to end the first half of the year. Lori Cooper was the director of ceremonies, and as always, put together hilarious games and spectacular prizes. Thanks to all for participating, and especially Lori, for all her hard work putting everything together.
