CENTER— Five Center High School students will travel to Colorado State University in Fort Collins March 18 through 19 to compete in the State Knowledge Bowl competition.
Sixty schools all together from across the state will be competing. Team sponsor, ninth and tenth grade language arts teacher Hannah Hays says it is the first time in recent history anyone can remember Center qualifying for State Knowledge Bowl.
Knowledge Bowl competitors meet once a month with other teams from Valley Schools to hone their trivia skills. Each meet consists of one written and one oral round.
This year Center beat Sargent by four points to qualify for state. Qualifiers were Javier Leon-Villegas (sophomore), Hunter Paiz (senior), Kristine Hoffner (junior), Obed Perez (junior) and Isaiah Callum (junior).
