LA GARITA — Larry and Teresa Benns celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday at Quincy’s in Monte Vista with family members from the Valley and south Texas in attendance.

Eight of their 11 grandchildren and all four children attended the family anniversary dinner. The couple also have five great grandchildren

The Benns were married June 6, 1969 in Denver at All Saints Catholic Church. Their honeymoon trip included stops  in Yellowstone Park, the Royal Gorge and the Great Sand Dunes National Park. They have lived in La Garita for the past 20 years.
