MONTE VISTA—The Monte Vista Rotary Club is pleased to announce their upcoming Outdoor & Gun Show at Ski Hi Park in Monte Vista on Saturday, Oct. 28 (9 a.m.-5 p.m.) and Sunday, Oct. 29 (10 a.m.-2 p.m.) This fun-filled event will feature vendors, information and food. Admission is only $10 per day, and accompanied children under age 12 are free.
Founded in 1920, the Monte Vista Rotary Club has been serving the San Luis Valley and supporting national and international humanitarian projects ever since. Ongoing projects include the annual chuck wagon dinner at Stampede, CO state highway cleanup project, student foreign exchange hosts, Memorial Day cemetery cleanup and book scholarships for Adams State and Trinidad State students.
Monte Vista Rotary supports ongoing Rotary International projects including the Rotary International Polio Plus program which has reduced polio cases by 99.9 percent worldwide since their first project to vaccinate children in the Philippines in 1979. Rotarians have helped immunize more than 2.5 billion children against polio in 122 countries.
One hundred percent of the proceeds from this fundraising event will go towards the Monte Vista Rotary’s community projects. Part of the money will be used to purchase body armor and trauma kits for local law enforcement.
