Adams State Theatre brings virtual performance to you

ALAMOSA - The Adams State University Theatre Department presents a performance designed to fit the unique times in which we live.

On April 23, Adams State will bring theatre to where you are. Please join ASU Theatre for this free event taking place on our department’s Facebook and Instagram pages. Starting at 7:30 p.m., our current students, alumni, and faculty join together to present an evening of virtual theatre featuring new works and original solo performances.

“While we won’t be performing on our stage for an audience gathered together on our campus, we are excited to bring theatre to where our audience is,” said John H. Taylor, director of theatre.
Reaching Through the Distance will present a series of filmed monologues written and performed by members of the theatre program including faculty and alumni. The short solo pieces deal with diverse topics and may contain mature subject matter.

“I am excited that this production brings together members of our ASU theatre family, including six alumni, to collaborate and create together even in a time of social distancing. With the internet as our stage, we are honored to take part in the ongoing 2,500-year-old tradition of theatre as a source of entertainment and a place to tell the stories that must be told,” said Taylor.
